RESIDENCY SYLLABUS

ELIGIBILITY

1. A graduate from an accredited physical therapy program with a current valid license to practice in the state of Michigan or will be able to obtain a valid license prior to clinical mentorship.

2. Candidates currently employed in an outpatient orthopedic setting (full or part-time).

3. Successful completion of the home study course offered by the orthopedic section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), (Current concepts in orthopedic physical therapy 11.2 ) and complete the examination requirement for completion of the course.

4. Above all, the student should demonstrate a high level of motivation towards clinical learning and patient care.

3. Management of discogenic pathology.

4. Post operative management of spinal dysfunction

5. Medical diagnostics for the physical therapist (Systems Review, Regional application)

6. Evidence based practice and scientific enquiry

FELLOWSHIP SYLLABUS

ELIGIBILITY

1. A graduate from an accredited physical therapy program with a current valid license to practice in the state of Michigan or will be able to obtain a valid license prior to clinical mentorship.

2. A graduate from an APTA accredited orthopaedic physical therapy residency program OR ABPTS certified in the orthopaedic track (OCS).

3. Candidates with a minimum of 1-2 years experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting and currently employed in an outpatient orthopedic setting (full or part-time).

4. Successful completion of the home study course offered by the orthopedic section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), (Current concepts in orthopedic physical therapy 11.2 ) and complete the examination requirement for completion of the course.

5. Above all, the student should demonstrate a high level of motivation towards clinical learning and patient care.
